Jon is a business and organisational psychologist with over 20 years experience consulting to a wide range of commercial and public sector organisations. He trained and worked at the Tavistock Centre where he was the Founding Director of the Tavistock Consultancy Service - prior to this he was Chairman of the Adult Department of the Tavistock Clinic and Head of Career and Educational Consultation.

A Chartered Clinical Psychologist and a Full Member of the British Confederation of Psychotherapists, Jon has a broad range of industry experience including Professional Service Firms, Investment Banking, FMCG, Manufacturing, Advertising Agencies and Management Consulting. In the public sector he has consulted in the Health, Social, Police and Prison Services. He has worked in the USA, Africa, Israel and Europe.

Jon is an Associate Fellow at Oxford University Said Business School, visiting Professor at Strathclyde University Graduate Business School, a Member of Associate Faculty at Henley Management College, Founder Member of the Association of Business Psychologists, and Founder Member of the Association for Professional Executive Coaching & Supervision, where he is an accredited Executive Coach Supervisor.  Jon is also an Associate Fellow of the Institute for Government.

He has contributed to executive education programmes at many business schools, including Oxford, Cambridge and Cranfield Universities. His publications include chapters on 'The Psychodynamics of Teams' and 'Organisational Stress' in ‘The Unconscious at Work’ (Routledge, 1994) and 'Why Do We Work' in ‘Talking Cure’ (Duckworths, 1999) the book accompanying a BBC series. His consultancy interests focus on leadership development, leadership transitions and developing emotional intelligence.

In addition to Leadership Coaching, his consulting work includes advising chief executives and senior management teams on inter-personal, group and organisational dynamics; designing and providing for the in-depth assessment, selection and development of senior executives; and the training and development of managers and management consultants.

Richard Jolly is Adjunct Professor of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School. He teaches the ‘Leadership Skills’ and ‘Developing Effective Managers and Organisations’ core modules and the ‘Managing Change’ and ‘Paths to Power’ electives, as well as the ‘Executive Leadership’ module on the EMBA Global with Columbia Business School. In addition to the MBA teaching, for which he was voted Best Programme Teacher by students in 2003, runner-up in 2007, won two runner-up awards in 2010 and runner-up in 2011.

Richard also instructs a large number of Executive Education courses for London Business School in the UK and across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, including the ‘Senior Executive Programme’, ‘Accelerated Development Programme’ and ‘The Essentials of Leadership’, as well as working on a diverse portfolio of company-specific programmes, including Barclays, IBM, Lloyds of London, Lufthansa, Nestle, Orascom, Procter & Gamble, PwC, Rabobank, Rio Tinto, Roche, SABIC, Sony Ericsson and the World Economic Forum.

Richard is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Case Clearing House.

Outside of academia, Richard is a Director of the organisational consulting firm, Stokes & Jolly Consulting Limited, where he works with clients representing a wide range of sectors, including investment banking, private equity, fund management, law and accountancy firms, management consultancy, advertising, media, music, architecture, consumer goods, telecommunications, information technology and data management companies.

Richard’s primary consultancy interests focus on designing and delivering executive development workshops, coaching senior managers and facilitating senior management teams, with an emphasis on leadership and change management agendas. He received his MBA with Distinction from London Business School.
